Frequently Asked Questions
What can I actually use this for in an emergency?
The 3.5m paracord can be used for lashing shelters, securing gear, or making a tourniquet. The fire starter works even in wet conditions. The whistle signals rescuers from a distance. It's a compact emergency kit, not a replacement for a full survival kit.
How strong is the paracord?
The 550 paracord is rated to ~250kg tensile strength — strong enough for most camp tasks like hanging a bear bag, rigging a tarp, or lashing gear to your pack.
Is the compass accurate enough to navigate with?
It's a basic directional compass — good enough to identify north/south orientation in low-signal or no-phone situations. For serious navigation, carry a dedicated compass or GPS.
Can it be rewound after use?
Yes — the bracelet can be rebraided. It takes about 10 minutes with a basic paracord weaving pattern. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube.
What size fits?
Adjustable between 20cm and 25cm. Fits most adult wrists. The quick-release buckle makes it easy to put on and take off.
