Large or Small — which one?

These are genuinely different bags, not a small tweak in scale:

• Large (37 × 35 × 12 cm) — the proper jhola. Books, a tablet or slim laptop, a water bottle, a folded layer and a day's worth of things. This is the college, office and market-haul size.
• Small (26 × 23 × 7 cm) — the same shape at everyday scale, for a wallet, phone, book, sunglasses and a bottle. Lighter on the shoulder, easier in a crowd.

Storage, laid out

The problem with a classic jhola is that everything ends up in one soft heap at the bottom. This one solves it with three separate places to put things:

• Main compartment — the open, roomy section for books, a tablet, a bottle, a layer.
• Two pockets — for the small things that otherwise disappear. Phone in one, keys and wallet in the other, and you can find both without stopping to dig.

The strap and how it wears

A shoulder-length strap, cut so the bag hangs at the hip and lies flat against your side rather than swinging out. The soft hemp body moulds to whatever's inside, so a lightly packed jhola stays slim instead of holding a rigid empty shape.

Fabric and weave

Natural hemp canvas with handwoven detailing across a wide run of designs — Desert Bloom, Stone Ridge, Highland Blue, Glacier Sky, Crimson Trail, Meadow Mist and more. Hemp starts firm and softens with use while keeping its strength, which is exactly the opposite of what cotton does.
